Vermont State Gambling Law

In a state where the motto is “Freedom and Unity,” a Vermont resident should be able to find a land based casino where they can legally enjoy any gaming options they would like to try out.  This, sadly is not the case.  In “The Green Mountain State,” Gamblers cannot find a single land based gambling establishment because of present day Vermont laws.  Penal code 13.2132 certainly makes allowances for weekly pari mutuel wagering on horse racing, but the wagering cannot be conducted on Sundays until the afternoon.  Charities and nonprofit organizations can conduct lotteries if they desire to do so, and some sweepstakes can be legally offered in the state of Vermont.  Gambling establishments offering casino gaming options however, are completely banned.

While it may seem like the Vermont resident must traverse beyond “The Green Mountain State,” in order to engage in any kind of gambling whatsoever, in truth, there is one innovative solution that Vermont residents can turn to if they want to gamble: Internet accessibility.  The Vermont State has not defined, created, or established gambling laws that exclude the practice of engaging in Internet gambling activities, thus, it is still legal for the resident of “The Green Mountain State,” to do so.  Internet gambling endeavors give the Vermont resident access to all of the great games that they might find in a land based gambling establishment without all of the negative aspects commonly associated with the terrestrial casino.

What do gambling online endeavors have over physical casino offerings?  How about smoke free environments if the player desires, any and all games that one can imagine, bonuses, enticements, perks, tips, advice, information, and 24 hour accessibility to start?  The Vermont resident would be hard pressed to find all of the latter advantages at any terrestrial casino no matter where he or she travels.  Speaking of travel, the Vermont resident does not have to travel to an Internet casino, at least not by car, boat, plane, or train.  Internet access, a software application, a member account and a fine gaming selection is all that is required of a Vermont resident looking to have a great time gambling.  With the ability to stay at home and gamble at the same time, many Vermont residents are relying on the Internet to get at the gambling options that the state of Vermont refuses to offer to residents of “The Green Mountain State” at this time.
