Pennsylvania State Gambling Law

In the state of Pennsylvania penal code 18.5513 clearly defines the gambling laws in “The Keystone State.”  Within the boundaries of Pennsylvania, gambling hopefuls can legally partake in horse wagering, including interstate simulcasts, on track wagering, and off track wagering as well as pari mutuel betting endeavors.  According to Pennsylvania law, gambling houses and gambling equipment are illegal.  The only types of slots machines legal in the state are those that are antique and used for exhibit purposes only.

In the state of Pennsylvania, there are currently six horse track racinos that the residents of Pennsylvania can visit.  Pennsylvania residents can choose from Bensalem’s Philadelphia Park Casino and Racetrack, Chester’s Harrah's Chester Casino and Racetrack, Erie’s Presque Isle Downs and Casino, Grantville’s Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, Meadow Lands’ Racetrack and Casino, and Wilkes-Barre’s Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.  Some of the racinos offer gambling and wagering opportunities on casino gaming as well.

There is only one site that is solely dedicated to offering casino gaming and that is the Mount Airy Casino Resort in Mount Pocono.  The Pennsylvania resident does indeed have access to a variety of slots, as well as electronic table games to choose from, however, the locations in Pennsylvania are a great deal of distance from one another.  This means that if the Pennsylvania gambler wants to visit more than one casino that he or she will be expected to engage in considerable travel to do so.

At this present time, there are absolutely no restrictions for the Pennsylvania gambler in terms of online gambling endeavors.  While there are laws that have made online gambling ventures illegal for certain residents in the United States, the law must be defined by the state where the U.S. resident resides.  Pennsylvania has not placed a restriction on Internet gambling so this opens up the doors of gaming diversity for all inhabitants of Pennsylvania.  Whether one wants to find more slots variety or a gambling hopeful is looking to get in on a few fantastically challenging table games, the Pennsylvania resident can easily play any games he or she chooses on an Internet gambling site allowing U.S. player access.  While playing online, Pennsylvania residents can forego the need to travel, can get information about a variety of games, can better their gambling skills, can receive excellent perks, bonuses, and playing incentives and so much more.
