New Hampshire State Gambling Law

New Hampshire, otherwise referred to as “The Granite State,” has established its laws regarding all gambling endeavors in the penal code 647.2.  Conveniently enough, horse track wagering endeavors and dog racing endeavors are perfectly legal in New Hampshire.  Yet, “The Granite State,” has established a solid stone wall for gamblers hoping to enjoy land based casinos because there are no gambling establishments legally permitted within the boundaries of New Hampshire.  What’s even worse is that while a cruise offering gaming endeavors is welcomed into New Hampshire for up to two days time, any gaming options supplied to gambling hopefuls cannot be in operation while the cruise is docked.

There are three dog track racing facilities in New Hampshire and two horse track racing sites.  Even the little gambling that is legalized within this state is limited to a few preferred sites.  In March of 2008, some gambling proponents encouraged law makers in the state to consider adding slots to existing gambling sites, and to permit the establishment of casinos within the state limits.  Seeing gambling options as a way to address existing budget and state financial issues, several proponents of gambling are pushing for progressive movement forward in the gambling arena.  Of course, there are opponents struggling equally hard against the idea of allowing gambling establishments into the New Hampshire region; fearing crime, corruption, and addiction to gambling endeavors, opponents are so far, successfully keeping gambling establishments from being built.

Until the time when lawmakers see eye to eye or, at minimum, a decision is made, the New Hampshire gambling hopeful must either make travel arrangements to neighboring states where gambling adventures are provided, or gambling hopefuls must become online gamblers in order to enjoy what so many other gamblers are freely enjoying.  Table gaming, video gambling games, dice game offers, slots, Craps, Roulette, and every type of poker variant imaginable is available through online virtual casinos.  With no law specifically prohibiting the practice, the resident of New Hampshire has at least one reasonable, sensible, and practical avenue to pursue when interested in gaming diversity and options.

Even if terrestrial gambling establishments do become available in New Hampshire in the near future, the gambler will quickly discover the gaming options online are far more advantageous than traditional casino offerings.  Better odds, reasonable House edges, more gaming diversity, speedier rounds, and other perks will continue to draw New Hampshire gamblers to the online virtual casino setting for all gaming pursuits.
