Nevada State Gambling Law

With a state motto of “All for our country,” the state of Nevada forges on and offers the most land based gambling establishments for gambling hopefuls to enjoy in all of the United States.  Indeed it seems that there is a silver lining to be found in the state otherwise called “The Silver State,” and Nevada has legalized all wagering on horses, dog track racing, and casino operations within the state limits.  This of course, means serious gaming diversity for residents and visitors of Nevada, and the state surely attracts thousands of tourists living in other states in the nation with more restrictive gambling laws.  Within Nevada, the practice of holding charitable lotteries is legal and even social gambling endeavors are legal as well.

Horse track wagering is not the dominant form of wagering in Nevada State; unlike other states where horse race wagering is not only the dominant practice in some instances, it is the only practice in certain states, and the state of Nevada has only two locations solely dedicated to horse race wagering endeavors.  There are 376 gambling establishments in “The Silver State,” and nearly a third of them are situated in Las Vegas.  Vegas is often the center of a gambling hopefuls’ dream getaway, and many avid and new gamblers head to the Vegas strip each year, as if they are embarking on a pilgrimage to the “sacred gambling center of the world.”  This can be a real downside to living in Nevada if a resident prefers a quieter gambling environment with a bit more privacy.  Nevada’s casinos are bustling, flourishing, and hopping: most are accessible 24 hours each day, every single day of the year.  This means that there is little room for quite gaming, and one can really cast aside the notion of privacy when gambling in Nevada’s many gambling establishments.

Thankfully, in 2001, the state of Nevada legalized gambling online activities.  Nevada’s casino operators have been authorized in a bill passed by Governor Kenny Guinn to supply gaming pursuits online, provided that such casinos have advanced enough technologies to prevent minors from illegally gambling and that the casinos pay the demanded online gambling licensing fees established in the bill.  This means that card games, dice games, slots, video poker variants, and a whole host of other online gaming pursuits are legally accessible to the Nevada resident.  This is not surprising since Nevada is a state in the union with the least restrictive gambling regulations!
