Kentucky State Gambling Law

In a state where the motto is known as “Let us be grateful to God,” the residents of Kentucky are hardly grateful for law makers who have piled on severely heavy gambling restrictions.  In penal code 528.010, the only type of betting or wagering that is even permissible within the boundaries of “The Bluegrass State,” is pari mutuel wagers on horse racing events.  There are no casinos offering table games, or slots for residents of Kentucky and undoubtedly, this fact is leaving many residents of “The Bluegrass State,” feeling pretty blue.

While there is presently eight horse track racing sites where horse racing fans can wager, there are no land based, or water based casinos operating in Kentucky State.  One can go to Florence’s Turfway Park, Franklin’s Kentucky Downs, Henderson’s Ellis Park, Lexington’s Keeneland Grounds or Red Mile, Louisville’s Churchill Downs, Paducah’s Players Bluegrass Downs, and Prestonsburg’s Thunder Ridge to try their luck with the horses, but regrettably, as far as gambling endeavors in Kentucky are concerned, there really isn’t much else.  Even worse is the fact that the state is destined to have one less horse track facility; Ellis Park will be closing soon: a fact announced by the owner as recently as July of this year.

It is amazingly fortunate for all people living in Kentucky who are interested in gambling can still do so without the hassles of trip planning, packing, flight booking, cruise package shopping, or having to partake in any form of travel whatsoever.  While travel expenses can be completely cast aside, and an array of gaming from virtual casinos may seem like an impossible dream to some Kentucky residents, it really is a notion solidly fixed in reality.

Regardless of the prohibitions faced by today’s inhabitants of Kentucky, online gaming ventures are still quite affordable, reasonable, accessible, and engaging.  Table games, wheel games, slots, bingo, and keno: just about any game a Kentucky resident can dream up is on the Internet in wager challenging offers.  The state of Kentucky has yet to establish any laws banning the use of online/Internet gambling offers and games.  Due to this fact, and this fact alone, residents of Kentucky don’t have to feel like they are left out or are not exposed to the great gambling options that many Americans have and greatly appreciate.  Now residents of “The Bluegrass State” do not have to be so blue: legal gambling pastimes await in online virtual casinos!
